Southern Airways Sponsors Bradford’s America 250 Celebration

Southern Airways Express was proud to take part in the America250PAโ€“McKean County Grand Celebration Parade on Saturday, June 20, in downtown Bradford, PA. Billed by organizers as an epic celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary, the roughly 90-minute parade featured more than 100 units winding through downtown โ€” from Elm and Davis onto Main Street and through the heart of the city โ€” and was led by the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, the only unit of its kind in the armed forces. Units were announced at a Pass in Review stage in Veterans Square as crowds lined the route.

In partnership with Bradford Regional Airport, Southern helped bring an aviation-themed entry to the celebration: a decorated mockup of a small airplane wrapped in red, white, and blue tinsel and carrying the tail number N1776 โ€” a fitting nod to 1776. The float was built by the team at Bradford Regional Airport, a reflection of the strong relationship between Southern and the airport that anchors our service to the community.

As a banner sponsor, Surf Air Mobility’s name appeared on banners throughout the parade route. Southern team members Ryan Dach, Cora Ahearn, Austin Mayer, and Cara Tolentino represented the company at the event.

Southern stands apart among Essential Air Service carriers by extending its commitment to the communities it serves well beyond air service โ€” through sponsorships, partnerships, and local engagement like this celebration in Bradford.
